We have seen the SIRI on apple's Iphone, we have seen the S-Voice on samsung devices, we have seen the google now feature in the latest android devices. So what makes intel's Jarvis any different?
Jarvis is Intel's voice recognition system based on the intel's SD card sized Edison chip. What makes Jarvis different, is that intel has taken it off the cloud. It supports complete offline voice identification. The offline mode will see Intel doing something that Google Glass and Apple's Siri can't. This will be something really useful when you are outdoors, where you don't have access to high speed internet.
Intel made its first foray into the wearables market at CES earlier this month by unveiling its own smartwatch and a bluetooth headset device.
"How annoying is it when you're in Yosemite and your personal assistant doesn't work because you can't get a wireless connection?" Intel head of wearables Mike Bell told Quartz. "It's fine if [voice recognition systems] can't make a dinner reservation because the phone can't get to the cloud.
Intel has not given any official date on the device's release but has said that they will be tying up with smartphone manufactures and integrate their chip with their products.
